This means learning ways to handle symptoms and side effects, as well as making healthy choices—like eating well and staying active. This section is here to help you build the knowledge, confidence, and skills you need to take care of your health in the best way possible.

Free Wig & Headcover Program

Cedars CanSupport offers a free wig and headcover program for patients at the MUHC, providing comfort and confidence during their treatment. Patients can visit our resource center, where they can choose from a selection of free wigs and headcovers. We also have a dedicated wig room, ensuring a private, comfortable setting where patients can try on their wigs at their own pace. Our goal is to support patients with dignity and compassion throughout their journey.

Access to Reduced Rate Parking and MUHC Parking Vignettes

Our Resource Center provides access to essential parking services for patients at the MUHC. In collaboration with the treating teams, Cedars CanSupport provides Parking Vignettes reserved for individuals with mobility issues, granting access to designated spots on the P1 level of the patient parking. Additionally, through MUHC Reduced Parking Services, we provide discounted parking options, including weekly, 10-visit, or monthly passes, to help ease the burden of parking costs during treatment.

Cedars CanSupport Educational Resources

Cedars CanSupport offers a range of in-person and online public lecture to provide cancer patients and their families with up to date information about specific types of cancer and their associated treatment modalities (News You Can Use Series ), helpful strategies for self-management at home (Educational Clips) , and wellness tips for living with cancer (Well-Being Conversations). 

Be sure to sign up for World Cancer Day on Feb 4 every year to raise awareness and promote cancer care focusing on a variety of topics.

At Cedars CanSupport we offer free cancer information booklets from multiple trusted cancer organizations. These booklets cover a wide range of topics, from treatment options to emotional support, providing patients and families with the knowledge they need during their cancer journey.

Book Lending
Library

A curated collection of books covering

Cedars CanSupport offers a free book lending system, providing access to a curated collection of books on a variety of topics and for different audiences including adults, adolescents and young adults, as well as children. These books cover a variety of topics related to coping with cancer, treatment, caregiving, nutrition, and emotional support. The loan period is three weeks, giving patients and families’ time to explore valuable resources to aid in their cancer journey.

Family Doctor Registration Support

Need a primary care provider?

We can assist with Quebec Family Doctor Registration for patients who need help finding a primary healthcare provider. Having a family doctor is essential for managing overall health, coordinating care, and providing continuous support throughout your cancer journey. We are here to ensure patients have access to the healthcare they need for a smoother and more comprehensive treatment experience.

Adaptive Transport & Accomodation Info

We can assist with Adaptive Transport Assistance to help patients get to and from their appointments with ease. We also provide Accommodations Information, helping patients and their families find nearby lodging options during treatment.
