Jackie Aziz Adolescents and Young Adults (AYA) Program at Cedars

Created by Lynn and Randy Aziz in memory of their daughter Jackie, the AYA Cancer Program at Cedars strives to ensure that no young person faces cancer alone. The program is shaped by what mattered most to Jackie, or “Jax” as she liked to be called. Established in 2022, the JAX program at Cedars includes multi-disciplinary team members who are dedicated to meeting the unique medical, emotional, and social needs of individuals between the ages of 15 to 39. At every stage of the cancer experience, the program is designed to bridge the gap between pediatric and adult oncology by providing age-appropriate, coordinated care that extends beyond treatment. This includes professional and peer support, fertility preservation counseling, survivorship planning, and help navigating education, career, and financial challenges, as well as opportunities to participate in clinical research trials. By fostering connection and continuity of care, the AYA Cancer Program empowers young people living with cancer to continue to define their identities, goals, and futures.

Goal: To provide coordinated, age-appropriate cancer care and life support for young people.
